Certificate III in Hospitality
Get hands-on experience in the hospitality industry
You'll gain skills in providing excellent customer service, working effectively as part of a team, and preparing and serving beverages.

Gain the hands-on experience and the skills you need to work in any location in the hospitality industry such as cafes, bars, clubs or restaurants or as a functions and events team member.
You'll gain practical skills while training in The Pavilion Restaurant, NMTAFE's fine dining, à la carte training restaurant that is open to the public.

When you complete the Certificate IV in Hospitality you'll be able to work as a hospitality supervisor or team leader.
This course is designed to deliver a broad range of hospitality service, sales and operational skills. On successful completion you will have the knowledge and skills to work and supervise effectively in the hospitality industry, holding a leadership role in the responsible service of alcohol, financial management, budget control, and enhanced customer service.
You'll gain practical skills while training in The Pavilion Restaurant, NMTAFE's fine dining, à la carte training restaurant that is open to the public.

Diploma of Hospitality Management
A management career that could take you all over the world
On completion of this course you could find work as a functions, restaurant, or front office manager. You'll cover a broad range of topics including financial management, regulatory compliance, rostering, stock purchasing and control, providing quality customer service and managing workplace conflict.

When you complete the Diploma of Hospitality Management you will be able to work as a functions manager, restaurant manager, or front office manager.
You will gain a broad range of managerial and industry specific hospitality skills, in order to coordinate hospitality operations. On successful completion you will be able to work independently, have responsibility for others and be able to make operational business decisions.
NMTAFE provides exceptional training with industry current lecturing staff and you will gain practical restaurant experience while training in The Pavilion Restaurant, our fine dining, à la carte training restaurant that is open to the public.
When applying for this course, prior study within the industry will be considered. Where there is limited study, you may be directed into a more suitable level course.

Our Future Chef Job Ready Program will help you turn a passion for food into an exciting career in hospitality.
This Free for eligible students*, four week Future Chef Job Ready Program is designed to get you into the creative food and restaurant industry.
You'll gain a combination of intensive training and work experience in a real commercial kitchen which may give you a head start into gaining an apprenticeship or other employment opportunities in the hospitality sector.
The four week program includes a total of five days work placement where you will gain real, hands on industry experience in addition to in class training.
After completing this Job Ready Program you could:
- be offered an apprenticeship
- find employment opportunities in other areas of the hospitality sector
- embark on further training to enhance your employment prospects.

If you're keen to work in a restaurant, hotel, resort, club, winery, bar, or licensed cafe the Introduction to Hospitality Skill Set is for you.
You will gain the skills required to serve and supply alcohol (RSA), a requirement under the state licensing laws for all employees such as food and beverage attendants, winery cellar door staff, delivery service staff or anyone working in a liquor outlet.
Use hygienic practices for food safety is an important skill, essential for those working with and handling food. You will be provided with the knowledge to manage personal hygiene, prevent food contamination and identify and control, food hazards within a kitchen or small food premises.
