Mooro Noongar Boodjar (Mooro People’s Land), encompasses the nearby wetlands, coastal areas and the higher ground to the east. 

Located on McLarty Ave in Joondalup, this campus specialises in health and wellness training.

Featuring a state-of-the-art simulation hospital, the facility gives our enrolled nursing and health students a strong understanding of what it’s like to work in a hospital environment. It is fully functional and even has the capability to operate as an independent hospital if required in an emergency.

The campus is conveniently located within a five minute walk from Joondalup train and bus station and Lakeside Joondalup.

Open to the public, our beauty clinic offers a range of beauty treatments at very affordable prices. Services are completed by students, under the supervision of our lecturers.

Student parking

All students parking at our Joondalup (McLarty Ave) campus will need a Student parking sticker on their vehicle or risk receiving an infringement.  You can register online then go to Admin to pay your fee and collect your permit.

You must obtain a parking permit to use these car parks between 8:00am and 4:00pm. Anyone parking without a permit may be issued an infringement notice from the City of Joondalup. Vehicles are not permitted on verges, grassed areas, roads or pathways at any time unless otherwise sign posted.

Visitor parking

Visitors can park in the allocated student bays within each car park, and are required to visit Client Services to obtain a permit for the time/day they are on site. Permits must be placed in vehicles and easily visible.

Gain the skills to assist allied health staff (physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech pathologists) with the implementation of patient rehabilitation or maintenance therapy programs.

Working alongside allied health staff is a growth industry

Gain the skills to assist allied health professionals (physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech pathologists) with the implementation of therapy programs to improve a client's quality of life and independence.

During this course you'll learn how to work with adults and older people with a range of physical disabilities, mental health conditions, developmental delays, communication difficulties and/or social disadvantage. You will have access to a team of allied health professionals who are able to share their experiences and support your learning throughout the course. The course predominantly focuses on working with adults and older people, with limited content relating to paediatric populations.

Learning is primarily classroom based with some online ldelivery. Access to online resources to reinforce classroom learning is also provided. You will be supported in learning the required knowledge and skills through classroom discussions and simulation activities before undertaking a full-time work placement for three weeks. Assessments will comprise of: online knowledge, in class practical, presenting and demonstrating, as well as during your placement.

As a successful graduate you'll have a wide range of job options depending on where your passions lie and you may gain employment in both public and private health settings such as hospitals, aged care facilities, schools, mental health clinics, private practices and not for profit organisations.

Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Physiotherapy)

Allied health assistants work with a range of clients to improve quality of life.

You could find employment as an allied health assistant or in a specialised role as a physiotherapist assistant supporting rehabilitation and therapy programs.

Allied health assistants work with a range of clients to improve quality of life.

With the growing need for specialised care, after completing this course which has a physiotherapy specialisation, you could find a role as a physiotherapy assistant (PTA) or you could be employed as an allied health assistant (AHA), supporting rehabilitation and therapy programs under the guidance of a qualified physiotherapist. You may find employment in both public and private health settings such as hospitals and community rehabilitation, aged care facilities, private practices and not for profit organisations.

You will learn how to work with children, adults and older people with a range of physical disabilities, all done with the knowledge of safe work practices, legal and ethical considerations and current industry standards.

You will gain the required knowledge and skills through classroom discussions, simulation activities and workplace learning. Then you will undertake four - five weeks of full-time placement which North Metropolitan TAFE organises for you via our range of industry partners. Online learning makes up a small part of the course delivery but you will also have access to online resources to reinforce classroom learning.

You will have access to a team of allied health professionals who are able to share their experiences and support your learning throughout the course.

Some students have gone on to study allied health degrees at university after this course has ignited their passion.

The Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Acute Care) will give you the essential clinical knowledge and skills needed for employment in the health industry. As a graduate you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of public or private health care environments including acute care hospitals, aged care facilities and community settings.

During the course you will be involved in classroom activities and online learning including medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology, and experience our simulated practice where care is delivered to manikins. You will also be required to undertake 80 hours of clinical work placement. The Department of Health requirements for acute care settings are met with the units covered in this course.
