Since its inception as the Balga Technical School in the early 1970s, our Balga campus has developed into a major centre for building and construction training across a range of areas. Our contemporary equipment provides students with a competitive edge in the training arena and ensures they will continue to receive industry-relevant training.

Services and facilities

Jobs and Skills Centre
Western Australia's TAFE Jobs and Skills Centres are one-stop shops for careers, training and employment advice and assistance. Services are free, and accessible to all members of the community.  The centres are located on TAFE campuses, with additional outreach locations for regional areas.
The Balga Jobs and Skills Centre is staffed by people who can provide free professional and practical advice on training and employment opportunities including careers advice, apprenticeship and training information. Support services for employers and business, as well as specialist services for Aboriginal people, ex-offenders and people from a culturally or linguistically diverse background are also available.
The centre also provides an online jobs board, to connect jobseekers with employment opportunities and to help employers attract and recruit employees.
For more detail, see the Balga Jobs and Skills Centre page.
Plumbing Training Centre
Our 1400 square metre plumbing training facility is one of the best of its kind in the state. The facility has been designed to facilitate flexible teaching and learning practices with classrooms opening into the workshop area. There is also an external covered area to practice trenching and sewerage piping, with an overhead sprinkler system to keep the sand damp while digging.

Further information can be found on our Campus Life page.
