Known as the cultural industries precinct, the vibrant Perth campus is located in the centre of the cultural area of Northbridge and close to the heart of the city.

The Perth campus has seven buildings all located in and around Aberdeen Street, just off William Street, Northbridge.

Services and facilities

Koolark, Centre for Aboriginal students

Nyoongar Kadadjiny Kulark Kart at 30 Aberdeen Street is a meeting place for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Our support officers assist with information in a range of areas to do with your studies including:

  • Course enquiries
  • Facilities
  • Fees payments and installment plans
  • Referrals to external support agencies
  • Pathway opportunities

International centre

The International Centre is a welcoming venue for international students to get support, advice, network, share experiences and make new friends. The Centre houses a prayer room, a kitchen equipped with microwave, refrigerator and tea and coffee making facilities.

Jobs & Skills Centre 
Western Australia's TAFE Jobs and Skills Centres are one-stop shops for careers, training and employment advice and assistance. Services are free, and accessible to all members of the community.  The centres are located on TAFE campuses, with additional outreach locations for regional areas. 
The Northbridge Jobs and Skills Centre is staffed by people who can provide free professional and practical advice on training and employment opportunities including careers advice, apprenticeship and training information. Support services for employers and business, as well as specialist services for Aboriginal people, ex-offenders and people from a culturally or linguistically diverse background are also available.
The centre also provides an online jobs board, to connect jobseekers with employment opportunities and to help employers attract and recruit employees.

Gallery Central

Central Gallery, the centrepiece of creative industries at North Metropolitan TAFE, showcases the many talents of our students and other professional artists.

Campus artworks

North Metropolitan TAFE's Northbridge campus has always been a major part of the cultural precinct. Our artworks feature local and international artists, past and current students, lecturers, and emerging artists whose passion and talent was ignited during their time with us.

Beauty clinic

Open to the public throughout each term, the beauty clinics offer a range of services at very affordable prices.

Remedial massage clinic

The Remedial Massage clinic at 30 Aberdeen Street is run by our Diploma of Remedial Massage students, and is fully supervised with a qualified massage therapist available to answer any questions.

Wednesday          1:30pm - 6:30pm
Thursday              1:30pm - 6:30pm
Friday                    10:00am - 3:00pm

Wireless internet access

Students can access the internet at all buildings within the Perth campus on their wireless device using our free wireless connection.

Aroma Cafe
We offer a large, tasty variety of fresh, hot and cold food and drinks, including coffee.

Chalk and Cheese Café

During the term, North Metropolitan TAFE’s Chalk and Cheese Café is operated by Hospitality students as part of their training, so come in and let our students demonstrate their acquired skills and knowledge.

Library | Bookshop

Perth campus has a modern well equipped library, providing a range of resources including internet access, photocopying facilities and quiet study spaces.

Prayer room

We embrace the religious and spiritual diversity of our staff and student community. In recognition of this diversity, the Perth campus has a prayer room for staff and students.

Building 1          25 Aberdeen Street

Delivers courses in the areas of travel, tourism, events, and languages, business and management, finance and property services, English language programs, ELICOS programs, fitness programs (including the gym) plus various administrative functions. It also houses the canteen and the bookshop.

Building 2          30 Aberdeen Street

The newest building on the Perth campus, construction of this building began in 2009 with occupancy in early 2011. Programs delivered from this state of the art building include engineering, building, architecture, design, beauty therapy and massage and the library is housed here.

Building 3          14 Aberdeen Street

Built around 1896 and home to courses in the areas of film and television .

Building 4          133 Newcastle Street

The hub of the printing and jew​ellery industries, construction of this building began in 2008 with occupancy in early 2009. The building is home to courses in printing, jewellery, multi media and graphic design.

Building 5          12 Aberdeen Street

The site was constructed in 2001 and delivers courses in visual arts and crafts; and ceramics.The building houses our purpose-built art gallery, Gallery Central.

Home to the media and applied design areas and our film and television studios.​

Building 7          27-29 Museum Street

A heritage listed building built in 1897 providing office accommodation for administrative staff.​​


Student parking is not available on the Perth campus grounds although there is ample parking in parking garages and parking bays around the campus.

The Perth campus is within 200m of the Roe Street Bus Station and the Perth Central Train Station.

The closest car parks to the Perth campus include the State Library and Northbridge Central Car Park.

ACROD parking bays

There is one ACROD bay off Francis Street, and two ACROD bays in the parking area on the corner of Museum and Aberdeen Streets.

Students wishing to use the ACROD parking bays must display a valid ACROD parking permit on their vehicle.

Bicycle routes and racks

Bicycle racks are provided on the campus, but please make sure you lock your bike.

We do ​not accept liability for stolen or damaged bikes and/or accessories.​
