Are you passionate about fashion and textiles and eager to explore your creative side? Our fashion department at the Perth campus, in the heart of the city, is the perfect place for you to kickstart your fashion dreams.
This course will nurture your creative talents and teach you the essential skills for a thriving career in the fashion industry. No prior experience is needed – just bring your enthusiasm and curiosity!
Whether you're sewing, creating patterns, experimenting with textile and digital designs, or sketching your fashion ideas, you'll be in an environment that encourages your creativity to flourish. Our Fashion design studio feels just like a real workplace and you'll not only learn the technical aspects of fashion and textiles, but also explore your unique ideas, think outside the box, and do extensive research to fuel your creativity.
The Certificate IV is a requirement of those interested in continuing to the Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising. This first year will equip you with an impressive set of skills that will open doors to further studies or even real-world work opportunities. Imagine turning your passion into a fulfilling career or continuing your fashion journey with confidence.
This amazing 12 month course is offered only in the first semester of each year.
- Sewing techniques and garment construction

If this course is deemed competitive, you will be informed during your application via TAFE Admissions and additional entrance requirements will apply.

Study outside of class hours, including private study, assignment preparation, and research will be required to successfully complete your course.
Bring your own device (BYOD) is encouraged but not essential. If you don’t have access to a computer and WiFi at home, we recommend using our library computers during library hours.
As a student you will also have additional costs associated with your study, for example text books and stationery, printing and other materials required for your assignments.
