Build your administrative accounting and bookkeeping skills

This nationally recognised skill set is designed for people employed in accounting and bookkeeping roles who use knowledge of accounting principles to perform a range of analytical tasks in a variety of industries.
Successful completion of this skill set may provide you with credit towards FNS40222 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping and also meets the entry requirement for FNS5022 Diploma of Accounting.

This skill set covers disciplines such as:

  • Processing financial transactions
  • Extracting interim reports
  • Creation and operation of a computer accounting system
  • Establishing and maintaining payroll systems
  • completion of business activity statements
Online

Some of our Online courses can be done completely online. However, some of the courses require a practical component or assessment that can't be done online, and some may be a mix of online and on campus learning. School Leaver Non-School Leaver AQF
C Grades in Year 11 WACE General English, and OLNA; or NAPLAN 9 Band 8 C Grades in Year 11 English and Maths or equivalent Certificate II or Certificate III

The next intake for this course will be in semester 2, 2023.

On campus

When you study full-time on campus, classes are delivered over three days per week, from 9:00 - 4:30 pm, plus half days of combined delivery (online and on campus).

As well as the on campus component, approximately five hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, is recommended, including private study, assessment preparation, research and participation in Collaborate sessions.

Online delivery

Online delivery provides you with the opportunity to extend the time taken to complete the qualification, giving you greater flexibility to meet your other commitments and control the amount of learning you undertake. For example:

To complete the course within one year, you will need to:

  • Attend regularly to scheduled online sessions
  • Spend 10 - 12 hours per week individual study
  • Complete 6 - 7 units per semester (6 months)

There will be Collaborate sessions to participate in plus self paced learning and there may also be some on campus assessments.
