Facilities
Located in the heart of our Perth campus, CoLab provides commerce students with the opportunity to test drive a variety of different simulated office environments, from open plan to traditional workspaces.
CoLab is both formal and informal, providing a balance between individual and collaborative learning. Students are encouraged to use the spaces to familiarise themselves with the different types of workspaces they may encounter throughout their careers. Featuring casual open plans, individual study nooks, formal conference and meeting rooms, the workspace variety encourages students to figure out which work style works best for them. Breakout spaces have been incorporated to encourage discussion, and foster cooperation with 'co-workers', as well as quieter rooms for those who prefer fewer distractions.
Students will enjoy interacting with the different spaces designed to shape an agile, adaptable and job-ready future employer.
Our CUT Mine, located on Level 1 of 25 Aberdeen Street, is a unique simulated underground mine and the first of its kind in WA.
It allows students to experience working underground, so they graduate with real experience of working underground and means that students don’t have to travel 500km to experience the real thing. The ‘mine’ includes a refuge chamber, similar to those used in industry. This facility, backed by industry support helps students gain the skills and qualifications to begin their careers in the resources industry.
