This qualification is directly aligned with priority industry areas where jobs are today, and into the future. As part of the state government Lower fees, local skills program, through to 31 December 2025 you'll only pay half the tuition fees (plus resource fee) capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession.

Pursue your career in a wide range of engineering fields

This course will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge, including  workshop and measurement skills, to allow you to produce drawings for manufacture.
 
Learn how to use and operate computer-aided design (CAD) to create drawings. In addition you will work in teams to produce projects.
 
On successful completion of this course you may be able to work in a number of different engineering related industries including mining and mineral processing, manufacturing, oil and gas and automotive.

Or you may choose to complete an additional 6 months further study, to gain the Diploma of Engineering - Technical (Drafting).
 
Please note this course will be delivered in specialised classrooms across both the East Perth and Perth campuses.
