This apprenticeship will give you the skills to create furniture using hand and power tools, industrial machinery and CNC processing centres. Get yourself ready for a career as a furniture or cabinet making.
This qualification is directly aligned with priority industry areas where jobs are today, and into the future. As part of the state government Lower fees, local skills program, through to 31 December 2025 you'll only pay half the tuition fees (plus resource fee) capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession.

When you complete the Certificate III in Cabinet Making you'll be ready for a career as a furniture maker or cabinet maker.
You will gain the knowledge and skills to work effectively in the furnishing industry and learn to create furniture using using hand and power tools, industrial machinery and CNC processing centres.
The Certificate III in Cabinet Making is an apprenticeship; please see the Apprenticeships section for more information.
- Produce angled and curved furniture
- Applying decorative surfaces
- Selecting timber and preparing surfaces
- Interpreting plans and measuring and calculating the right amount of materials for the job
- Workplace health and safety
