This course will prepare you to work in construction installing drainage systems. You'll gain a variety of skills including the use of hand and power tools, and oxy-acetylene and arc welding at our major training centre at Balga.

This qualification is directly aligned with priority industry areas where jobs are today, and into the future. As part of the state government Lower fees, local skills program, through to 31 December 2025 you'll only pay half the tuition fees (plus resource fee) capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession.

You will gain the knowledge and skills to work effectively in the construction industry, install drainage systems, read plans, calculate quantities, concreting and rendering, and workplace health and safety.

Our Balga Campus is a major centre in WA for training in the building and construction industries, with purpose-built workshops, up-to-date equipment, and lecturers who maintain close links with industry.

The Certificate II in Drainage is a traineeship; please see the Apprenticeships and traineeships section for more information.
