A qualification in photography from North Metropolitan TAFE can open doors and help launch your career in this exciting industry. Our courses are recognised by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography and will see you develop the necessary knowledge, skills and creativity to be a cutting-edge professional photographer.

You will learn all about composing, capturing, processing and enhancing images using various techniques. Our courses also cover production of digital images, camera techniques, lighting, studio and location work. You will also develop skills in business, publishing systems and markets, digital imaging, photographic illustration and be exposed to industrial, advertising, commercial, wedding/portraiture photography, fine art photography and photojournalism.

In this five week introductory course you will be taken from the ground up to develop a sound understanding of the photography related principles that are used in Photoshop.

You will be guided through a workflow from digital capture to the production of photographic quality prints and social media content.
This course is taught on Apple computers using industry standard colour managed monitors. Basic instruction in the use of a Mac computer is included in the course. Use of the Adobe Photoshop program is virtually identical on a Mac or PC platform.
