By studying one of our jewellery qualifications, you will have access to state-of-the-art studios, facilities and equipment. You will become familiar with industry standards and practices, so you can fabricate your own unique and individual pieces of jewellery using new and traditional techniques.
Lecturers will give you the practical skills and knowledge to design and produce contemporary jewellery designs, focusing on aesthetics and marketing knowledge and skills. You will learn to interpret concepts and gain hands-on skills in wax casting, stone setting, soldering and metal forming, and fabrication to create wearable, decorative or sculptural designs.

Jewellery 1
Make your own silver jewellery
No experience necessary! If you've always wanted to make silver jewellery then this is the course for you. It will give you the skills to make simple silver and metal jewellery using a range of techniques and allow you to begin to develop your own ideas about design and style.
Make your own silver jewellery
If you've always wanted to make silver jewellery then this is the course for you. This course will give you the skills to make simple silver and metal jewellery using a range of techniques and allow you to begin to develop your own ideas about design and style. The wonderful bonus is you get to take home two or more sterling silver pieces and the cost includes all your materials.
There are no skill or experience requirements for this beginners course and it runs over six sessions.
During this course you will learn how to:
- Create a hammered leaf pendant
- Create a domed bangle
- Learn to solder and create a simple ring
- Make an anticlastic ring
- Create a piece of silver jewellery from a selection of styles e.g. ring, cuff, earrings
Dress requirements
You must:
- Wear enclosed shoes e.g. sneakers or leather type shoes
- Wear clothing that covers legs e.g. jeans
- Tie back long hair
- Apron or smock

Develop your own jewellery projects in our facilities
Jewellery Advanced Studio is great for participants who have completed Silver Jewellery Beginner course, or experienced practitioners of silver and metal jewellery making.

Jewellery 2 is great for participants who have completed Jewellery 1, or experienced practitioners of silver and metal jewellery making.
Depending on your skills you will have the choice to participate in structured classes or work on your own projects under the supervision of an experienced jewellery tutor.
Dress Requirements
- Participants must wear enclosed shoes e.g. sneakers or leather type shoes
- Long hair must be tied back and any long accessories must be removed when working on the machines
You will need to bring your own metals and materials.
Certificate III in Jewellery Manufacture (Jeweller)
Work in an exciting and creative industry
This apprenticeship course will give you the necessary skills to work as a commercial jewellery manufacturer. You'll learn to create jewellery pieces, illustrations and moulds, and work safely with molten glass and metals.
Learn the art of jewellery making and open up a world of possibilities
The Certificate III in Jewellery Manufacture will give you a range of bench skills required to work in the jewellery manufacturing industry as a commercial jeweller.
Once successfully completed you have the potential of finding employment internationally. The jewellery industry is an exciting one and how successful you are depends on your designs and commitment to the industry.
Your Certificate III in Jewellery Manufacture is a great precursor to our Certificate IV in Design (Jewellery Studio). Diploma of Visual Arts (Jewellery Design)
Enhance your existing jewellery design and fabrication skills
This course covers computer aided drafting and digital techniques, as well as a moulding, casting and manual finishing techniques. You'll learn to develop your bench skills in our specialised studios in the creative heart of the city.
Take your jewellery design skills to the next level
The Diploma of Visual Arts (Jewellery Design) will enhance your existing design and fabrication skills. This course is taught in our extensive purpose-built facilities and specialised studios based in the creative and cultural heart of the city that is home to the Art Gallery of WA, PICA and many other smaller galleries.
There is a concentration on computer aided drafting and digital techniques as well as studio time and bench skills to further develop your design practice.
On completion you will be well equipped to undertake further studies or you could find work as a high end Jewellery Designer both locally and overseas, or set up your own design studio.
Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts (Product Design)
Refine your creative practice
This course will advance your technical, creative and conceptual skills to develop a substantial body of work that expresses your creative vision.
Refine your product design practice
This course will extend your technical and conceptual design skills to industry ready standards. As a student in the Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts (Product Design) you will focus elements of your project work on an individually negotiated product design specialisation.
During the course you will produce an extensive portfolio of product design work (2D and 3D), allowing you to accumulate experience and a focused skill set that can be applied within your chosen field of product design.
You will learn advanced digital design and fabrication techniques to support your design practice, as well as developing your own design branding and product marketing strategies.
You will receive constructive feedback practical assistance with all aspects of your design process and production from our industry experienced lecturers and support staff.
