ESL (English as a Second Language) enrolment dates

North Metropolitan TAFE offers a range of study options for English Study.  Information for courses available, enrolment dates and locations are listed below.

Please bring your passport with your visa and any previous English class results. Enrolments can take up to two (2) hours so please plan your day accordingly.

Important

You must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) before we can enrol you. If you have not provided us with your USI please make sure you have a USI and bring it with you on enrolment day.

If you have studied at North Metropolitan TAFE in 2020 we already have your USI and you won’t need to make another USI.

Overview

The Victorian EAL Framework of accredited courses has been designed to prepare adults who are learning English as an additional language for a range of educational and vocational pathways.

Students intending to continue their studies within TAFE will find these qualifications provide useful pathways to vocational learning within the Australian Qualifications Framework.

The Certificates are designed to provide English Language learning to migrants and refugees who need to develop routine language skills to participate in a range of community, further training or employment contexts.

North Metropolitan TAFE offers both suites of qualifications to ESL students so that they can choose the skills and knowledge they need for their learning beyond English.

Lecturers can advise the best qualification and level for you at interview.
