The Operate a Small Business Skill Set offers a fantastic range of skills and knowledge to get you job ready. You'll learn how to design and produce business documents and publications, digitally design and develop text-based documents, develop spreadsheets through the use of both cloud-based and non-cloud based applications, identify financial requirements of a business including profit targets, cash flow projections and strategies to garner financial support, and understand workplace health and safety (WHS) legislation and its application to safe work practices. It even covers how to create and build a social networking presence using social media tools and applications.

Online delivery provides you with the opportunity to study the Operate Small Business skill set using materials available in our Learning Management System, supported by online sessions hosted by unit facilitators. This is scheduled to be delivered over a six month time period.
This pathway would be suitable for a student who is new to the course material or wants to refresh their skills and knowledge.
Study commitment would be around 4 - 6 hours per week (including online sessions) depending on experience.
Fast track delivery
Our Fast Track delivery provides you with an opportunity to complete this skill set at a faster pace. You'll have access to our Blackboard Learning Management System to develop key concepts and knowledge. Some weekend workshops may be scheduled to cover units in depth.
This pathway is suitable for students who have some pre-existing knowledge in content covered in the skill set units.
Study commitment would be around 6 - 12 hours per week (including online sessions) depending on experience.
