The Diploma of Sport* has been designed with the career oriented, sports professional in mind and will provide you with a broad set of skills and knowledge to advance your career in the sport industry.
North Metropolitan TAFE is excited to be offering this course as part of a new dual diploma qualification in 2023 to give you greater opportunities to advance your career and enhance your skill set. If you are a natural leader and love sport, this new program will give you skills in business, management and enhance your leadership and sport knowledge and experience.
On successful completion of the program you'll gain a Diploma of Sport and a Diploma of Leadership and Management, equipping you to find employment in a range of sporting bodies, or state and local government organisations or to work independently in the private or public sector.

It is recommended that you have completed year 12 WACE. Mature aged applicants may be asked to submit a portfolio of evidence demonstrating training, experience and employment in the sport industry.
The typical timetable is 2 days per week on campus, Tuesday 9:00am - 4:00pm and Wednesday 9:00am - 3:15 plus Thursday is an online learning day which will consist of Collaborate (lecturer led) online sessions and some self-paced activities.

Industry placement opportunities will be offered throughout the course. Completion of industry hours will be required for some assessments.
You will need to obtain a Working with Children Check.
You will be required to buy a uniform.

Bachelor degree pathways in related fields may be available upon successful completion.
NMT has an articulation pathway with ECU and you can gain credits for units completed in your Diploma of Sport.
Upon successful completion of the SIS50319 Diploma of Sport from North Metropolitan TAFE, up to 8 units (120 Credit Points) of Credit for Recognition of Prior Learning (CRPL) may be awarded into the Y53.9 Bachelor of Sport, Recreation and Event Management where no specified major or minor has been nominated.
