Advance your career in electronics and communications
You'll gain specialised knowledge and extensive skills across the electronic and radio communications engineering field to progress towards a career as an engineering associate and/or technical officer. Our purpose-built facility features advanced technologies and radio equipment to ensure you are learning in an industry-standard setting.
We have worked with industry and are offering the Diploma of Electronics and Communications Engineering within a short time frame, to up skill current electronic technicians.
This course is also a great pathway for graduates of the Certificate IV in Electronics and Communications. Graduates of the Certificate IV will only need to complete 12 units over one semester.
North Metropolitan TAFE is the only TAFE and RTO in WA to specialise in radio communications. Our lecturers are industry trained and you'll have access to up to date radio communications test equipment, radio transmitters and receiver systems to commission, test and modify to industry standards.
- Provide engineering solutions for problems in complex multiple path circuits
- Develop design briefs, prepare tender submissions and write specifications for electronics and communications engineering projects
- Assemble, set up, configure and test computing devices and local area networks
- Analyse the performance, commission and modify wireless-IP based radio communication and electronic systems
- Design and develop advanced digital microcontroller systems to a final designed PCB based prototype
I work in the electronics industry as a technician and/or are a recent graduate in the Certificate IV Electronics and Communications and want to advance my career.
