Gain the skills you need to take your career as a plumber or gasfitter further

When you complete the Certificate III in Plumbing you'll be looking at an in demand (and possibly lucrative) career as a plumber, or gasfitter.

You will gain the knowledge and skills to work effectively in the construction industry. Our Balga Campus is a major centre in WA for training in the building and construction industries, with purpose-built workshops, up-to-date equipment, and lecturers who maintain close links with industry.

The Certificate III in Plumbing is an apprenticeship; please see the Apprenticeships section for more information.

  • Safely install, alter, and repair pipe work services and appliances to suit domestic, commercial and industrial needs
  • Cold and hot water supply, gas supply
  • Sewage, waste and rainwater disposal
  • Install and repair roofing, gutters and drain pipes
  • Make buildings waterproof
  • Workplace health and safety

Half-price

This qualification is directly aligned with priority industry areas where jobs are today, and into the future. As part of the state government Lower fees, local skills program, through to 31 December 2025 you'll only pay half the tuition fees (plus resource fee) capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession.

^ You will pay half price for the tuition fees on the Lower fees, local skills qualifications, however other fees may apply such as Resource fees that are specific to your course. For full details see our Half price courses page.

This course is an apprenticeship, you must be employed in a training contract by an appropriate organisation to study.

Apprentices will require a license prior to attending gas units – completion of pre-requisite units is required before this license can be obtained.

  • Cut resistance, level D or equivalent gloves
