  • The awards recognise achievements during Semester 2, 2021 to the end of Semester 1, 2022.
  • Seven students are additionally finalists in the State Government’s 2022 WA Training Awards.

After receiving close to 100 student nominations from our lecturers, 16 finalists were selected as 2022 Ambassadors across seven categories.

Seven of the 16 finalists were also selected as finalists in the State Government’s WA Training Awards to be held on September 21.

Aboriginal and Torres Islander Education Support (AIEO) graduate and Noongar woman, Lieshia Green was announced as the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year with the talented student also a finalist in the WA Training Awards.

“I came to TAFE to enhance my skills as an AIEO; never did I think about any awards,” Lieshia said.

“I want to be a role model for my kids and inspire my family, friends and community.”

The Vocational Student of the Year was awarded to Corrie Ramsay. After the COVID-19 pandemic forced her to leave an 11-year career in aviation, Corrie felt inspired to help people, leading her to the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Physiotherapy).
