Our state-of-the-art facility for mining industry training.

Providing students with the opportunity to develop sought after skills based on highly practical training programs using industry standard facilities, the centre enables WA to better respons to industry demand.

We offer specialised training in mining exploration, mineral processing, geology, and gold assaying. Students can train to become Field Assistants or Pit Technicians by interpreting the geology of a drill core in our core yard; learn to extract gold or base metals in our fire assay laboratory; or gain off-road four-wheel drive experience to work in exploration and mining.

The $17 million Green Skills Training Centre, jointly funded by the Federal and State government, earned a 6-star Green Rating for design by the Green Building Council of Australia, a rating which represents world leadership in environmentally sustainable design. It is completely self-sufficient in energy and water. Often used as a demonstration centre for sustainable design and energy efficiency.

Specialising in green jobs of the future, students gain skills and training in engineering, building, design and architectural studies; building and construction including electrical and plumbing; and green skills including renewable energy, biotechnology, water operations and environmental management.

Splitting Beans Café offers a large, tasty variety of fresh hot and cold food and drinks, including coffee.
