Before the establishment of the Swan River Colony, Mt Lawley area was occupied by the Yabbaru Bibbulman Noongar people.
Sir Arthur Lawley was Governor of Western Australia from 1901-02.

Mount Lawley campus is conveniently located just a five minute walk from the bustling Beaufort Street café strip and close to public transport.

Known for its focus on health services, our campus features a state-of-the-art simulation hospital. The facility gives our enrolled nursing and health students a strong understanding of what it’s like to work in a hospital environment.

Services and facilities

North Metropolitan TAFE is committed to ensuring that people with disability have equal access to our services, programs and facilities so that you can achieve your educational and career goals.

Accessibility and Learning Support coordinators coordinate and implement support for students with a diagnosed disability, medical condition or mental health condition, whether temporary or permanent. 

This service is free, confidential, and optional.

Accessibility and Learning Support can assist students with:

  • Assistance with the enrolment process
  • Familiarising you with the campus, facilities and classrooms
  • Working with you to inform lecturers about your needs (if required)
  • Alternative formats for learning materials (audio, large print, etc.)
  • Adaptive technologies, software and specialised equipment
  • Assessment alternatives and adjustments
  • Study assistance, support and advocacy.

Our Roaming Education and Community Health (REACH) training and primary health care initiative is based out of our Mount Lawley campus - our enrolled nursing students deliver health services to the community under the direct supervision of registered nurses.

Splitting Beans Café offers a large, tasty variety of fresh hot and cold food and drinks, including coffee.  

Opening hours (Term time only)

Note Visitors (aged 16 years and over) who are purchasing food or drinks (except for takeaway) or being seated in this venue are now required to show proof of vaccination through the ServiceWA app, or in a digital or paper-based form, along with acceptable ID.

Monday — Thursday 7:00am - 3:30pm
Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm

Closed during the weekends and holidays.

No student parking is a​vailable on campus grounds although parking is available in West Parade and Chertsey Street. (Harold Street parking has a limit of 1-3 hours).

There is ACROD parking bays off Lord Street.  Staff or students wishing to use the ACROD parking bays must display a valid ACROD parking permit on their vehicle.

Where parking of vehicles occurs on college grounds, the vehicle owner takes all risk and responsibility and fines of up to $200 may be imposed.

Bicycle racks are provided on the campus, but please make sure you lock your bike. We do​ not accept liability for stolen or damaged bikes and/or accessories.
