Western Australian Training Awards

The WA Training Awards is WA’s premier awards program recognising excellence in vocational education and training and the outstanding achievements of our students, apprentices and trainees.

Winners come away with $3000 to put towards further training or to kick-start their career!

NMTAFE students have had great success at the awards, with winners now excelling in their field from designing a new City of Perth logo to starting their own business. Our students have also gone on to win the national Australian Training Awards. You can read all about our past finalists and winners below.

There are seven individual categories that students can self-nominate for in the WA Training Awards:

  • WA Apprentice of the Year
  • WA School-based Apprentice of the Year
  • WA Trainee of the Year
  • WA Vocational Student of the Year
  • WA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year
  • WA Cultural Diversity Training Award
  • WA International Student of the Year.

To be eligible, students must have completed or be due to complete their training between 1 October and 30 September in the current year.

Nominations usually open in February/March. You can find out more via the WA Training Awards website.
