This skill set will give you the necessary skills and knowledge to training others within a workplace. It will enhance your competence and confidence to make presentations and facilitate learning (accredited or non-accredited) and activities in small and large groups.
The course is suitable for:
- HR staff who conduct employee inductions;
- Supervisors who train staff on policies and procedures; or
- Enterprise trainers who have been identified as having particular skills and experience that benefit others.
It is also suitable for individuals who teach, train, assess and develop resources (under supervision) within the vocational education and training (VET) environment who work mainly in classroom situations. Or others who are required to train within a workplace and who may be involved in coaching on a individual or small group basis.
On completion of this skill set the two units will provide credit towards the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Get qualified to deliver training and assessment in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector
This qualification is for individuals responsible for delivering accredited training and assessing the skill levels of VET students either in a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or within a work environment as part of a structured VET program.
On successful completion you will have the skills to train and assess competence in a workplace, a registered training organisation or in a community setting.
To enrol in this course you will need to demonstrate that you have current vocational skills, knowledge and expertise that you will be passing on to others after you become a qualified trainer.
This course is delivered in four clusters through a mix of both face-to-face workshops and online structured learning and assessment activities. You will need to complete all clusters to obtain the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Please note Clusters B, C and D below require you to have access to current VET students undertaking a nationally recognised qualification directly linked to YOUR industry qualification/skill and background. This is to meet specific assessment requirements and to meet the Standards for RTOs 2015.
