This course has become the minimum qualification for the vast majority of employers seeking fitness professionals or clients wishing to receive instruction or advice and on succeeeful completion you  will be able to apply for registration with Fitness Australia.

You will need to obtain your Senior First Aid certificate with another recognised training provider.

Work placement

You will be required to complete on-the-job experience in industry, this may include early morning, lunchtime or late afternoon shifts outside of normal class time.

Important information

The qualification does not provide the skills and knowledge for an individual to provide advice or exercise instruction to high risk clients, other than to refer the client to an appropriate medical or allied health professional.

Classes are conducted face to face over 3 to 4 days (Tuesday – Friday) each week.

    Mid-year intake for Semester 2

    More than ever, people are recognising the benefits of a healthy lifestyle as a means of coping with the pressures of a fast paced life. There is an increasing trend for fitness centres, hospitals and other health care agencies to employ qualified massage therapists as permanent staff members. North Metropolitan TAFE’s remedial massage qualification will teach you how to manipulate soft tissue, ligaments, muscles, fascia and tendons for the treatment of muscular dysfunction. 

    With a qualification in sport, you will be part of a growing industry that thrives on achieving goals and healthy living. Our courses will train you on how to fulfil client objectives and to work effectively within a sporting organisation.
