Once we have received your application, we will assess your eligibility and provide you with further instructions for enrolment.

Applications will be considered for the next available start date.

 

International students are not eligible to apply for these skill sets.

Who is eligible for free job ready skill sets?

Our job ready skill sets are available to everyone (except international students), and 100% free for the following eligible students.   

  • Persons aged 15—24 years at the time of enrolment (excluding school students)
  • Secondary school-aged persons who are not enrolled at school
  • Persons receiving the JobSeeker or JobKeeper payment
  • Persons and dependents of persons receiving the Youth Allowance, AUSTUDY or ABSTUDY
  • Persons and dependents of persons holding: 
    • a pensioner concession card or Health Care Card; or
    • a Repatriation Health Benefits Card issued by the Department of Veterans' Affairs
  • Dependents of persons who are inmates of a custodial institution

Please note You must be a WA resident or local student to be eligible for the free training. Some temporary residents may also be eligible, see our FAQs for more information.

     

      Proof of eligibilty
      Please provide one piece of evidence that you meet the fee free eligibility requirements.

      Acceptable proof may include:

      • 15 – 24 years of age – birth certificate, drivers licence, or other government document that proves age such as passport, proof of age card
      • JobSeeker or JobKeeper payment – letter from employer, Centrelink, bank statement showing payment
      • Concession cards - Youth Allowance, AUSTUDY or ABSTUDY, a pensioner concession card or Health Care Card; or a Repatriation Health Benefits Card issued by the Department of Veterans' Affairs
      • Temporary visa showing sub-class 309, 444, 785,790,820, 826 or secondary holders of a temporary visa of sub-class 457 holders of a Bridging Visa E (subclasses 050 and 051) where the visa holder has made a valid application for a visa of subclass 785 or 790

      Concession cards must be valid, and must have a start date on or before commencement of the course.

If you see that you have chosen the incorrect file before pressing "Upload" simply press "Choose File" again. If you see the incorrect file after pressing "Upload", press "Remove" then press "Choose File" again.
      Files must be less than 10 MB.

      If the course you are applying for has more than one start date (as shown on the course page) please list your preference below. We will try to accommodate this preference where possible.
      Entrance Requirements
      Press "Choose File" to upload your evidence. Browse for your file then press "Upload". If you see that you have chosen the incorrect file before pressing "Upload" simply press "Choose File" again. If you see the incorrect file after pressing "Upload", press "Remove" then press "Choose File" again.
      Files must be less than 2 MB.
      Allowed file types: jpg jpeg png tif pdf doc docx.

      I understand that I need to:

      • Provided my own steel cap work boots, long sleeved hi-vis shirt and work gloves
      • Be willing to work long days with early starts, up to 50 hours per week
      • Be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
      • Have reliable transport to get to work by 5:45am
      • Be willing to undertake any drug and alcohol tests or medical assessments as required for the role
      • Follow all work health and safety procedures as required for the role
      • Be willing to undertake reasonable manual labour

      Your USI is a 10 digit number. Please note that enrolments are unable to be processed without a USI. You can create or retrieve your USI at www.usi.gov.au

      Note  If you are enrolled in secondary school and TAFE concurrently you will be charged at a commercial rate. For further information please email applications@nmtafe.wa.edu.au
