COVID-19 updates and advice

As you may be aware, the WA Government has released a six-phase roadmap to ease COVID-19 restrictions. 

What does this mean for you?

Your lecturer should have contacted you to provide specific details on how your course is operating.

Many of our courses have now resumed face-to-face classes on campus, with appropriate social distancing and hygiene measures in place. Some online learning will continue through virtual classrooms for some courses.


Please note these FAQs are being updated regularly. Please keep monitoring for all the latest information.

Will my class be delivered on campus?

Your lecturer contact you to provide specific details on how your course will operatey.

Students on campus should practice social distancing and good hygiene at all times. 

Will I be penalised for not attending classes for COVID-19 reasons?

No student will be penalised and NMTAFE will work with students to identify solutions for their specific circumstance.

How is NMTAFE preventing the spread of COVID-19 on campus?

We have implemented social distancing, good hygiene practices and additional cleaning measures following current health advice.

What support services are available for students?

Our student support services continue to be available to support you during your studies, including:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student support – through our Koolark Centre 
  • Disability student support 
  • International student support 
  • Jobs and Skills Centres 
  • Libraries at all campuses 
  • Student Services front counters at all campuses.
What do these changes mean for my apprentice/trainee?

NMTAFE will contact you with specific details regarding training arrangements for your apprentice or trainee.  

What facilities/services are open to the public?

Campus cafes and restaurants; all campus cafes/restaurants are now open.

  • Aroma – Perth (30 Aberdeen), Midland and Balga
  • Baytree Deli - Joondalup.
  • Campus Coffee – East Perth, Leederville, Joondalup, Mt Lawley, Perth (25 Aberdeen)
  • Chalk and Cheese Cafe - Perth (30 Aberdeen)

Other facilities and services also open at our campuses:

  • Gallery Central - Perth
  • Hairdressing Salons - Balga and Midland
