Graphic Design student Anna Logan has had her logo design selected as the new brand for the student training café, Chalk n Cheese, at our Perth campus.

Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design students were given the opportunity to design a new brand for the café as part of their studies with a judging panel, including the café, selecting the winner.

From more than 40 students, Anna’s playful design was chosen with the new branding installed as part of a café refresh in July.

Anna said she was so grateful to Chalk n Cheese and NMTAFE for the opportunity to design a new brand for a real company.

“It’s been something I’ve really enjoyed throughout this unit,” she said. “I’m thankful for the support my lecturers gave me  and t was great being part of the process and seeing the final outcome.”

Graphic Design Lecturer, Tim Ewers said Anna did a fantastic job with her hard work and thoughtful approach paying off.

“We are super proud of the work Anna put forward,” he said.

“We liked the hand drawn approach to this brand, which brought a warm authenticity and casual atmosphere to this venue.

“The final design was aligned to the original brief and captured a style which fits a training venue that also caters to the public.”

NMTAFE offers a range of courses in design.   View our graphic design page to find all the details of the courses available.

Chalk n Cheese café is operated by our hospitality students as part of their training. The café is open 9.30am-2.30pm, Thursday and Friday and is on the corner of William and Aberdeen Streets, Perth.
