Celebrate Library and Information Week at Perth campus

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

12 May 2021

To celebrate Library and Information Week our Perth campus' Diploma of Events Management students have organised a series of events from 17- 21 May to celebrate all things library.

The week celebrates the work that library and information workers do all around Australia including across our nine campus libraries.

This year’s theme is "Adventures in Space and Time", highlighting how libraries can connect with people and take them on a journey, whether it's in search of specific information, serendipitous browsing through vast collections, or coming together with others to learn something new.

Our students have helped organise five events at our Perth campus Library including a Careers Day, a Technician Day, and National Simultaneous Storytime event with the Perth Observatory, a Fundraising Day with a Headspace guest speaker and an Australian Library and Information Association Day.

Events Lecturer Suzanne Teasdale said the students had done a tremendous job assisting in the organisation of the five events and encouraged staff and students to attend.

“It has been a great learning experience for our students and something they are eager for everyone to enjoy,” she said. “A big thank you to our library for allowing our students to help them celebrate the week.”

A full list of the events on offer can found below.

Applications for our Diploma of Event Management are now open for Semester 2.
