Photography students capture national success

North Metropolitan TAFE photography students have achieved great success at the Australian Institute of Professional Photography awards.

  • Professional photographers from around Australia and the globe enter their finest work into the AIPP awards. Students are also strongly encouraged to enter their work, which is mixed in with the images from professionals.
  • Our photography student, Callan Shiel, was recognised as the AIPP Australian Student of the Year.
  • North Metropolitan TAFE was awarded the AIPP Tertiary Photography Institution of the Year for the second year in a row.

A special presentation was held at NMT’s Perth campus this week, where AIPP WA State President Des Birt presented the student award to Callan and the tertiary institution award to our Managing Director Michelle Hoad.

The standard of the AIPP awards is extremely high and the competition is very tough. Over 100 students entered the competition, with 16 of those from North Metropolitan TAFE.

Our photography students dominated the Student of the Year category, with all finalists coming from the college. Congratulations to our students on their success! Winner.jpg
