North Metropolitan TAFE graduate Caitlan Noble was crowned Australian Vocational Student of the Year at the 2018 Australian Training Awards in Sydney last week.

  • Caitlan completed a Diploma of Anaesthetic Technology (HLT57915) at North Metropolitan TAFE's Mt Lawley campus at the end of last year. Before graduating she had secured a role as ann Anaesthetic Technician at King Edward Hospital
  • The Australian Training Awards are the peak, national awards for the vocational education and training (VET) sector, recognising individuals, businesses and registered training organisisations for their contribution to skilling Australia.

As Australian Vocational Student of the Year award Caitlan will be a national ambassador for the VET sector, embodying the principle of real skills for real careers.

"I think if you're considering a career change and you're considering a TAFE course, you should do everything in your power to do it," said Caitlan.

Caitlan's former lecturer Andrea Reville is not surprised by her success and says that staff at King Edward Memorial Hospital are impressed by her professionalism and dedication to patient care.
