Six North Metropolitan TAFE students and graduates were selected to participate in VIVID, a national Decor + Design competition in Melbourne.

VIVID (Vibrant Visions in Design) is the longest running design competition in Australia, shining a spotlight on some of the most dynamic emerging Australian designers. Every year, the competition receives hundreds of applications from all over the country; only 43 were selected to exhibit in 2017.

North Metropolitan TAFE’s 2017 International Student of the Year Kumbirai Gono represented WA at the Council of International Students Australia (CISA) National Conference in Canberra earlier this month.

The Diploma of Nursing student was selected to represent WA by TAFE International Western Australia, as she is considered a great ambassador for North Metropolitan TAFE and the State Training sector.

North Metropolitan TAFE recently welcomed new international students with two fun orientation sessions in East Perth and Joondalup.

More than 300 students from more than 40 countries received great advice from the college’s International Support staff to ensure they achieve their study goals. Students were given help on the spot in getting their USI and ensuring their enrolment documentation was completed before the beginning of classes.

North Metropolitan TAFE recently hosted the 6th edition of ‘Get Into Resources’, a 3-day interactive event focusing on careers in the resources sector; more than 1,500 students have benefited from the program since 2012.  

Between 21-23 June, over 400 students from 15 regional and metropolitan schools were given the opportunity to interact with around 40 professionals from across the resources sector. The event involved hands-on activities, workshops, tours, information booths, and presentations by special guest speakers.

North Metropolitan TAFE Printing and Graphic Arts student Elliot Tawns won the 2017 Australian Adobe Certified Associate Championship; North Metropolitan TAFE students have won four out of the last five editions of the national competition.
