We collaborate to succeed

North Metropolitan TAFE works with government, community and industry to address the skill development and workforce planning needs of Western Australia.

 

 

We are currently engaged in a variety of projects with the following organisations

North Metropolitan TAFE is partnering with Roy Hill to offer traineeships in Certificate III in Resource Processing and Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations to approx. 130 Roy Hill employees (commencing semester 2, 2018).

North Metropolitan TAFE has had a long and successful relationship with AGAA – Tropicana which commenced in 2013. We have worked with AGAA to increase their workforce capability and succession planning by providing new skills, recognising existing skills and customising training to suit their needs.

North Metropolitan TAFE has partnered with Pilbara Minerals to deliver customised training for their operation staff working on the new major lithium development project at Pilgangoora Lithium-Tantalum in the Pilbara.

We work with non-for profit group Brightwater to offer unique work placement programs as part of a new clinical model for students studying the Certificate III in Individual Support in the Disability and Ageing streams. This ensures that students have the skills required to join this fast growing industry upon graduation.

Since the introduction of our apprenticeship training scheme, North Metropolitan TAFE has developed a strong relationship with the ABN Group to meet its training needs for over a decade. Group Training Manager at ABN Training Loris Moriconi said North Metro TAFE provides quality, tailored training programs to suit our business needs and is always open to feedback to improve its program offering and delivery.

Foyer Oxford is a partnership with Department of Communities - Child Protection and Family Support, Anglicare WA and Foundation Housing Ltd and is based at our Leederville campus. Foyer Oxford provides young people with secure quality accommodation and pathways to employment, education and training.

North Metropolitan TAFE has partnered with Hall & Prior Health & Aged Care Group to develop a recruitment pool of highly trained potential aged care workers that meet the needs of Australia’s ageing population. From January 2019, individuals can complete two direct client care qualifications in less than seven months, attending TAFE one day a week and a Hall & Prior home two days a week to practice their skills.

North Metropolitan TAFE is creating a more accessible pathway for young Aboriginal people who wish to become police officers. Four recruits from the WA Police Force Aboriginal Cadet Program have begun their careers, after successfully graduating as police officers.
