Learn the art of hand building and wheel throwing

In this skill set you will be introduced to the art of hand building and wheel throwing. You'll gain an understanding of how clay performs and plays with each different approach to making.

You will bring new 3D forms to life with glaze and explore the chemistry and alchemy that can occur with glaze and heat.

This course is suitable for beginners through to advanced practitioners, schoolteachers or art technicians.

Please note this skill set will be run subject to enrolment numbers.

  • Hand building with clay
  • Basic wheel throwing
  • Basic glazing

This skill set has a series of assessable components and it will be necessary for you to have access to a computer to compile and upload these assessments. 

If you don’t have access to a computer and WiFi at home, we recommend using our library computers during library hours.
