Take the next step to build your skills in advanced web development

In this skill set, you will build on your existing web development foundations and learn how to create real‑world, production‑style web applications.

You’ll move beyond static websites and learn how modern systems are structured—understanding how user interfaces connect to data, services and application logic to form a complete solution.

This course is designed as a next step after Certificate IV in Information Technology (Web Development or Programming), or equivalent industry experience.

By the end of the course, you’ll understand how to build and connect an entire web system, not just the front end.

This course is fee‑free for eligible Western Australian students.
Eligibility requirements apply.

By completing this skill set, you’ll develop skills in:

  • Designing user‑focused digital experiences (UX)
  • Building advanced, interactive front‑end web interfaces
  • Developing and connecting APIs within real applications
  • Understanding how modern web systems are structured and scaled
  • Working with concepts such as microservices and containerisation in a practical context

This course is ideal if you:

  • Have completed a Certificate IV in IT (Web Development or Programming), or have equivalent experience
  • Want to move beyond basic websites into full stack development
  • Are ready to build more complex, real‑world applications
  • Want to strengthen your skills for higher‑level roles or further study
