Gain more skills to further your career as an Enrolled Nurse with this specialist skill set

If you are an Enrolled Nurse who is currently working in a health care environment, you can gain the skills required to administer medicines and intravenous therapy by completing the nationally accredited unit, HLTENN040 Administer and monitor medicines and intravenous therapy.

You will cover all aspects of medication administration including a variety of methods; oral, otic, ocular, topical, rectal, vaginal, enteral, subcutaneous (subcut), intramuscular (IM), intravenous (IV) injection and infusion via a PIVC and blood and blood products, amongst others.

The skill set consists of four x mandatory on campus workshops, online theory delivered in conjunction with your workplace experience and study in your own time.

Any registered enrolled nurse who is currently practising may enrol in this skill set - there are no prerequisites. You will be taught by skilled lectures who are available to support you through your online learning.

To enrol in this skill set you must:

  • Be currently practicing as an Enrolled Nurse
  • Provide your AHPRA Registration Number
  • Be working in a health care setting where intravenous medicines are administered.
Combined (Online & On campus)

This course is delivered through a mix of self-directed online study, assessment and 4 in-class workshops. On campus workshops are mandatory attendance for the HLTENN040 unit.

McLarty lab workshops will be run on 20/11/23 - 23/11/23.

Mt Lawley lab workshops will run on a Monday for 4 weeks, beginning 23/10/23. 

Please be aware that COVID-19 vaccination is an employment requirement for many healthcare providers. 
NMTAFE students undertaking work placements or who are required to attend a healthcare or community setting as part of their studies are advised to check directly with the healthcare provider regarding their policy settings around vaccination and proof of vaccination requirements.
