You will learn to apply nursing practice in the contemporary mental health care setting with this skill set.
You'll gain a suite of skills to deal with issues experienced by individuals and their families going through a mental health issue or crisis. You will also learn to assist with the recovery process for the individual and the family.
- Recognise and respond to crisis situations
- Case management practice
- Provide services to people with co-existing mental health and alcohol and other drugs issues
- Recovery process facilitation
To enrol in this skill set you must:
- Be currently practicing as an Enrolled Nurse
- Provide your AHPRA Registration Number
- Be IV Medications competent (completed or will complete education in intravenous medicines administration)
This course if offered through a combined delivery approach, consisting of 3-5 hrs a week online and ongoing practical experience in the workplace.
