This course is low fee* for residents of Western Australia and temporary residents holding certain visa types. An annual fee cap of $400 for those aged 15-24 or concession holders or $1,200 for everyone else, applies to this course. Grow your horticulture skills

This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to work effectively in the horticulture industry, including the private sector, local councils or state government. If you have industry experience this course will enhance your skills.

As part of this course you will undertake three units that have been designed to meet the Department of Health requirements to gain a Pest Management Technician Licence to control weeds and other minor pests in lawns and gardens, landscaping, bushland or minesite rehabilitation.

All of our classes have extensive resources and are run by highly experienced lecturers.

You may be able to attain a dual qualification, adding the Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management adding to this Certificate III in Horticulture by enrolling in additional units.

This qualification will allow you to develop a broad range of trade level skills and knowledge, including:

  • Identify plant specimens
  • Work health and safety
  • Control weeds, pests, diseases and disorders
  • Install irrigation
  • Implement a propagation plan
  • Implement a soil improvements for garden and turf areas
  • Implement a plant nutrition program
  • Implement a landscape maintenance program
