The Certificate III in Applied Language (Japanese) is a comprehensive language course that builds on the basic language skills and cultural knowledge acquired in the Certificate II in Applied Language (Japanese).

It will provide you with an in-depth understanding of Japanese language and culture and covers a range of topics including grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. You will also gain a deeper understanding of Japanese history, and society.

You must have successfully completed the Certificate II Applied Language (Japanese) or be able demonstrate equivalent competencies.

You'll be able to access your personal timetable (find out how on our Timetables page), once you have paid your fees. In the meantime the information below provides an indication of the time commitment required to complete this course, depending on available study options.

Online

This course requires your attendance for online scheduled classes for 2 days per week when studied full time and is delivered on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00pm - 8:00pm online. 

At-home study

As well as the online component, you will need to complete additional study of around 6 - 8 hours each week outside of scheduled classes, including private study, assignment preparation, and research.

This course is taught online, a suitable device with WiFi at home is recommended. Our library computers are also available during library hours.

As a student you will also have additional costs associated with your study, for example text books and stationery, printing and other materials required for your assignments.
