Try your hand at Wheelwork
We have one of the top ceramics facilities in Australia, so what better place to learn to throw a pot! This hands-on class has an emphasis on the throwing techniques on the potter’s wheel, turning and joining clay forms.
This class is aimed at the total beginner as well as those returning to clay wishing to regain their clay confidence. You will be encouraged to think outside the circle and try altering their forms, and some surface decoration with slip or oxide decoration.
Basic glazing techniques will be covered depending on the progress of the class.
There are no prerequisites for this class.
• You'll need to wear enclosed shoes e.g. sneakers or leather type shoes
• Long hair must be tied back and any long accessories must be removed when working on the machines
• We recommend you wear old clothing or an apron to protect your clothing
For this course, you will need to bring:
• Old towel or apron
• Own wheelwork tools (optional)
