How On campus
This course is aimed at Boilermakers and apprentices looking to further develop their GTAW skills. If you're looking to up-skill and become a coded welder with the GTAW process, this course is a mandatory step towards that goal.
The course is specifically designed to prepare students for entry into the "Weld to Code - Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Skill Set" by building on existing knowledge and demanding a higher standard of practical workmanship that is critical for success at the Weld to Code level.
- Correctly identify the most suitable electrodes, polarities, and filler materials for a range of welding applications.
- Identify, select, and prepare material for welding with the GTAW process.
- Weld to AS1554.SP in all positions using the GTAW process.
- Apply distortion prevention techniques and rectify defects.
