Are you a qualified tradesperson with an electrical trade background? If so this course will give you the practical skills and knowledge to be employed as an instrumentation and control technician. You will undertake both theoretical and practical training.
The theoretical component is online whilst the practical components can be completed at our Midland campus, in a single 2 week block - dates are listed in the timetable tab below. Or the course can be spread out over 6 months to suit your schedule. This course costs approximately $700 if you enrol in the units outlined in the important information tab but please note fees are subject to change.
It is possible to enrol in the PID Skill Set concurrently and we will help you manage the order of completion of subjects so that you can achieve the pre-requisite units before commencing the PID program.

PID Skill Set
Instrumentation Technicians work in many sectors including oil and gas, mining, minerals processing and associated industries.
This PID skill set will equip you with the skills needed for the set up, adjustment and tuning of control loops
Instrumentation Technicians work in many sectors including oil and gas, mining, minerals processing and associated industries.
This PID (proportional integral derivative) skill set will equip you with the skills needed for the set up, adjustment and tuning of control loops. While it is highly recommended that you have completed UEE40420 Certifcate IV in Electrical - Instrumentation prior to doing this skill set, it is possible to enrol in both concurrently and North Metrolpolitan TAFE will help you manage the order of completion of subjects so that you can achieve the pre-requisite units before commencing this PID program.
