Our courses provide you with the skills and knowledge to plan and supervise construction work, and prepare, cost and schedule for a contract. You will also learn about building codes and standards, legal requirements, estimating, site safety, timber code, project management, and structural principles for residential and commercial buildings.
We also offer a Builders’ Registration Diploma, which covers the academic requirements for becoming a registered builder in the State.

Bricklaying Handyman
Learn the basics of bricklaying
This short course will teach you the basics of bricklaying and give you the skills to complete home projects.

This short course will give you skills in bricklaying to complete home improvement projects. You'll learn the basics from using bricklaying tools and cutting bricks, to mixing mortar and laying bricks correctly.
You'll also cover:
- basic setting out
- bedding bricks in mortar
- levelling and plumb work techniques
- correct joint spacing
- how to maintain face alignment and finishing brick joints evenly
Materials and hardware will be supplied. No previous experience required.
Dress requirements
You will need to supply your own personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves and closed in footwear.
Diploma of Building Design
Build on the skills obtained in the Certificate IV in Residential Drafting
This course covers principles of energy efficient design and sustainability for this booming industry.
The Diploma of Building Design builds on the skills obtained in the Certificate IV in Residential Drafting and provides more drafting and design experience in Revit (CAD software) for residential and commercial small-scale building projects.
You will cover principles of energy efficient design and sustainability for design projects and occupational health and safety requirements for this booming industry.
Once you've completed this Diploma you will be able to apply your skills to diverse building design projects which may incorporate residential, commercial, public or industrial projects including new buildings and renovations.
Certificate IV in Building and Construction

Certificate III in Flooring Technology
Work your way up in the construction industry with an Apprenticeship in flooring technology.
This apprenticeship course will give you the skills to install floors and flooring materials such as polished concrete floors, carpet, resilient, vinyl and timber flooring.
Join the flooring technology sector of the furnishing industry
Get the skills and knowledge required to perform flooring technology tasks. You will learn to install floors and flooring materials in commercial or residential settings.

REVIT essentials for architecture
Skills in 2D & 3D modelling for architectural design and documentation
This course will give you an introduction to Autodesk REVIT and REVIT Architecture. You will learn the concepts of 3D computer modelling.
Develop new skills in 3D modelling
This course will introduce you to Autodesk REVIT, a building modeller for architectural design and documentation in 3D and 2D. You will learn the concepts of 3 dimensional computer modelling and gain an understanding of the tools required for parametric building design and documentation using REVIT Architecture.
This short course usually requires attendance on campus one day per week for four weeks, online delivery may also be available.
Certificate IV in Residential Drafting
Draw on your practical, hands-on skills needed to draft residential buildings
Learn to create design concepts and working drawings, gain skills in ArchiCAD and work on a project with an industry mentor.
A career by design
This course will expose you to drafting residential buildings within the building and construction industry. You'll develop the knowledge and skills you'll need to draft residential buildings, both single and double storey. Drafters produce drawings and documentation and use CAD software to draft and document residential Class 1 and 10 building designs.
Our residential drafting qualification provides you with skills that are relevant to current industry trends and practices.
Once you have completed this Certificate IV course you will be able to apply your skills to diverse residential building design projects. You may also choose to progress to the Diploma of Buidling Design.

Gain a broad range of practical skills and knowledge needed for supervision in construction.
Keen to take the lead in construction?
You'll gain the skills and knowledge needed to identify and assess a range of building and construction techniques, including concreting, brickwork, carpentry, electrical services, plumbing and drainage, tiling, ceiling fixing and painting. Once you successfully complete this short course running on Tuesday and Thursday evenings you'll receive a Certificate of Participation.
Dress requirements
You will need to have safety goggles, gloves and safety shoes but no previous experience is necessary. All tools and materials will be supplied.
