Welding Supervisor Program

Gain the skills to qualify as a welding supervisor.

This 120 hour training program complies with the requirements for the Welding Supervisor Certification to Australian Standards, AS1796 Cert 10 Pressure Equipment and AS2214 Structural Steelwork.

An independent Welding Supervisor Certification committee/examining body, in accordance with clause 1.6.1, will assess the certification applications to ensure compliance with the Australian Standards AS1796 & AS2214.

Testing And Tagging

This course covers safety testing of electrical cord assemblies and cord connected equipment.
It encompasses:

  • arranging for repair of faulty equipment and

NDT - Ultrasonic Thickness Testing Level 1 (UT1)

Ultrasonic inspection uses high frequency sound waves to detect imperfections or changes in properties within materials. The thickness of the sample, and the depth and type of flaw can be ascertained using this method.

These units enable students to undertake the ultrasonic testing of materials in accordance with the requirements of national and international codes and specifications and to interpret the results of such tasks.

This course will provide all the training requirements for certification with AINDT.

NDT - Ultrasonic Testing Level 2 (UT2)

This unit covers operating ultrasonic testing equipment and applying the testing procedure in a range of industrial applications.

Ultrasonic testing uses high frequency sound waves to detect imperfections or changes in properties within a material. Types of applications which this can be used with are inspections of castings, forgings, welds and also aerospace materials.

This course will provide all the training requirements for certification with AINDT.

Ultrasonic Testing Level 1 and Level 2 are available as a combined 3-week course.
