I am one of the privileged eight community services students chosen to take part in the India study tour.

Firstly I'd like you to know that after not having been involved in any personal education for close to 30 years had decided to call it quits once completing my Certificate III in Community Services until the possibility of doing my work placement for Certificate IV in Community Services in India was put forward. I am now considering what to start studying next (probably Certificate IV in Mental Health).

Five TAFE fashion students have just returned from Perth’s sister city, Chengdu (China) where they were fortunate enough to meet international fashion designer Rick Owens as part of a 9-day study tour to China and Hong Kong.

North Metropolitan TAFE graduate Jason Nesbitt from Duncraig has just returned home from the 2016 WorldSkills Australia National Competition (6-8 October, Melbourne) with a gold medal around his neck.

Jason (aged 23) who works as a Jeweller at Egoli Place of Gold in Glengarry, was one of 500 participants aged 16-24 competing across 60 different skills areas in the competition which has been dubbed Australia’s largest trades and skills showcase.
