North Metropolitan TAFE automotive students and lecturers scrutineered all vehicles participating in the 2017 edition of the famous QUIT Targa West rally.

One of Australia's premier Tarmac Rallies, QUIT Targa West is run throughout Western Australia and is one of the highlights of the year for car enthusiasts. Some of the biggest drivers in the country attend the rallies in WA, including Jim Richards, who has won seven Bathurst 1000 and four Australian Touring Car Championships.

The college held special events to recognise, support and celebrate indigenous culture across seven different campuses. 

With the Our Languages Matter theme, NAIDOC 2017 emphasised and celebrated the unique and essential role that indigenous languages play in cultural identity, linking people to their land and water and in the transmission of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, spirituality and rites, through story and song.

Six North Metropolitan TAFE students and graduates were selected to participate in VIVID, a national Decor + Design competition in Melbourne.

VIVID (Vibrant Visions in Design) is the longest running design competition in Australia, shining a spotlight on some of the most dynamic emerging Australian designers. Every year, the competition receives hundreds of applications from all over the country; only 43 were selected to exhibit in 2017.
