Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP)

The Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) delivers tuition in the English Language to help eligible adult migrants and refugees settle successfully in Australia.

The program is available to eligible migrants, from the humanitarian, family and skilled visa groups. The number of hours of free English courses offered depends on individual circumstances.
To view further information go to the Department of Education and Training AMEP webpage.

AMEP teaches more than just English, clients also learn about Australian society, culture and customs. They meet other new migrants, who may have similar experiences and goals, and they make many new friends.

There is no charge for eligible migrants and refugees to study through the program. Classes are offered at a choice of locations with centres in Perth, Balga, Leederville and Joondalup.

There are two study options:

  • Full time (20 hours per week in the morning or afternoon)

  • Part time (less than 20 hours per week in the morning, afternoon, evening or Saturday mornings)

The Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training.
