Massage clinic

The Remedial Massage clinic at 30 Aberdeen Street is run by our Diploma of Remedial Massage students, and is fully supervised with a qualified massage therapist available to answer any questions.

What to expect
On your first visit to the clinic, you will be asked to complete a comprehensive medical history form, as well as a disclaimer stating that you are aware that a student will be giving the massage treatment session. At the completion of the massage, the student will invite you to complete a feedback form. Please use this opportunity to give constructive feedback on their strengths and weaknesses, to allow the student to learn fully from the experience. Treatments are performed by students only.

What to wear
Ideally loose, comfortable clothing makes for easy undressing for your massage, as well as doing any stretches that our student therapists may ask you to do. But if you are attending the clinic after a day at work, that is quite OK too.

Appointment changes
If you are unable to make your booked appointment, please be courteous and cancel it. Also, if you are late for your appointment, please understand that your treatment time may have to be shortened accordingly.

Cost
The cost of a massage ranges from $15 for a 30-minute chair massage, $30 for a 60-minute remedial session, to $45 for a 90-minute massage.

Gift vouchers are available.

We accept EFTPOS only.

Community

Foyer Oxford

The Foyer Oxford is a project being run in conjunction with Foundation Housing, and Anglicare in Leederville. It aims to provide secure quality accommodation and pathways to employment, education and training for young people.

Foyer Oxford provides opportunities for young people ready to make a commitment to move on with their lives — a commitment to further education and training, and being a full participant in Foyer and all that it involves. Every person has an individually tailored commitment and plan. The young person signs it and so do the project partners.

Participants can stay in the Foyer project for up to two years. It's not a short-term crisis centre — it's for long-term building of young people's lives. The successful model is based on having a complete range of services on site.   Every young person has their own self-contained unit so they don't have to share kitchens, laundries or bathrooms. It is about creating a positive community.

Foyer originated in France and has been taken up throughout Europe and the United States. This world class complex is located on Oxford Street in Leederville. It has the capacity to house and support 98 young people, including 24 young parents and their children. It is the largest single site homelessness service for young people in Australia.

Foundation Housing built the accommodation and became the landlord; Anglicare is project manager, and provides the personal and community life skills support; while North Metropolitan TAFE contributes the education and training component.

The project is possible thanks to funding from State and Federal Governments under the National Affordable Housing Agreement, and Lotterywest.

REACH

Roaming Education and Community Health (REACH) is a training and primary health care initiative that delivers health services to the community and provides clinical training opportunities for our enrolled nursing students under the direct supervision of registered nurses.

Health checks are provided free of charge at most North Metropolitan TAFE campuses; for information about our next visit to your campus, email placement@nmtafe.wa.edu.au

For more detailed information, please see our REACH page.

Eco Playgroup

Unique to North Metropolitan TAFE, the Eco Playgroup provides child care students with a real-working environment during their training. They spend time in the playgroup during their course, caring for local children under lecturer supervision. With a strong sustainability focus, students teach children how to care for their environment and the importance of using recycled materials.
